iPad 2 As Good As Expected

ipad2So I’ve had my iPad 2 for a week now and even though I was skeptical about getting rid of my HP Slate 500 because it was truly the best Windows 7 tablet on the market, the iPad 2 has taken over every thing that I had my Slate doing and then some. Being an avid iPhone user for the past 3 years, I somewhat knew what to expect from the iPad, but having it in hand and putting it to use is truly remarkable. Within minutes, I had it sync’d with iTunes, dumped all of my apps, music and photos that I had on my iPhone and then, I was in business. I like the leather smart cover that I ordered with the iPad, it’s a great design and very functional, however, I need more protect than just a fancy screen protector. But I didn’t want something as bulky as an Otterbox, so I opted for the Targus Versavu Cover and Stand. It’s very functional, only adds a little bulk to the already slim iPad and keeps it very protected. I’ll keep my leather smart cover for use around the house and at work, other than that, it’ll be protected by the Targus. If you really want to experience the iPad in it’s true glory, then get the HDMI adapter, connect it to your flat screen tv and you’ll be amazed. So after a weeks of getting to know the iPad, so far, I’m very impressed! I’ll be adding some of my favorite apps in the upcoming weeks!

I’d never heard of The Shadows before doing an internet search to find out who were the original performers of this song. So, after quick search it seems to been a draw between a band named “The Shadows” and a band named “The Ventures”….consensus is, The Shadows performed this number first…..Long before the Sugar Hill Gang!

2012 Plymouth Barracuda

cudaAnother muscle car that we’ll never see! The Plymouth ‘Cuda concept is the work of Rafael Reston, a digital designer from São Paulo, Brazil. The ‘Cuda concept was inspired by the 1971 Plymouth Barracuda, and follows the recent trend of reviving legendary muscle cars like the Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang. The ‘Cuda concept is based on the platform from the Chrysler 300C, while the proposed power source is a 5.4 litre bio-fueled HEMI V8. The 22″ wheels and aggressive, purposeful looking body of the ‘Cuda is formed from aluminium. While the hood, spoilers and side panels are made from lightweight carbon fiber. Reston created the ‘Cuda concept using Alias Studio Tools 2008, Rhinoceros 4.0 was used for the interior, with the final rendering in Bunkspeed Hypershot. The final rendering was completed by John Boyd using PhotoShop CS4.

Ordered An iPad 2

ipadSo I’ve had my Windows 7 based HP Slate since March and even though I really enjoyed it, it would appear that HP is quickly dropping support for it and moving on to the HP Touchpad running WebOS. After waiting 75 days for my Slate after it was ordered in November of 2010, I’ve chosen to never order anything HP again. They have the worst customer service, the worst updates and the worst communication with their customers. And though a tablet still fits into my lifestyle, I’ve decided to go with the iPad 2. I’ve been an iPhone user for 4 years now and have been very happy with it. Not that I prefer Apple products over any others, but that fact of the matter is, the iPhone and iPad speak for themselves. Of course, you’ll probably never see an Apple OS running on my desktop….Windows 7 still rocks! Look forward to getting my iPad very soon and putting it to work!

Always (1989)

Pete Sandich and buddy Al Yackey are daredevil aerial forest-fire fighters. Pete finds True Love with Dorinda but won’t give up the job. When he takes one risk too many, Dorinda faces deep grief and cannot easily put her life back together.
Pete is a pilot who drops water on forest fires at very low heights. His intended Dorinda is also a pilot who doubles as a radio controller for the pilots who do this work. Pete always takes chances, confident that his skill will bring him through. One day it doesn’t and he is killed. He finds himself returning as an invisible ghost who’s presence is barely felt giving advice to his successor. Pete then finds that his successor is also falling in love with Dorinda.

Always, one of my all time favorites!

World Trade Center

Watching World Trade Center as I do some cleaning in the basement. Have to admit, I get cold chills during certain scenes of the movie. Can’t believe that it’s been 10 years…I’ve been following this person on Flickr for the past couple of years. He works across from the WTC site and posts pics of the progress every 2 weeks or so. It’s great to see such progress after all these years. The Freedom Tower is going to be spectacular. Can’t wait to drive up and visit when it’s completed! As far as the movie, it’s very moving, really puts you in the place of those who were there that day! If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth a watch!
