Ok, it’s that time of the year again. The time to reflect on what’s important (which we should be doing every day of the year) to us and say thanks for what we have and what we’ve been given. So here’s what I’m thankful for! My immediate family! My wife Lenora Boyd, she’s my thorn, my friend, my confidant. We’ve share a lot over the past 25 years. We’ve had our good times, our bad times, but we always emerge stronger and better. My kids, Colby David Boyd and Shauna Kristine Boyd. A man, parent, couldn’t ask for better kids. Though some times it’s hard to realize that they’re not kids anymore, they’ll always be my kids. I couldn’t be more proud of them. They both have a strong will and a good ethic. I think we did good. My mom, Gloria Boyd, 83 years old and still going strong! She’s another thorn, from another bush and we love her. Like her and the rest of my family, we miss my dad. We all wish that he was still around to witness what they have created. He may even shake his head, then laugh. My siblings, Susan Boyd, Beverly Kitchen, Vicki Boyd Messer, Russell Boyd. We don’t talk to each other every day. We’re more likely to converse over Facebook. Hey, it’s the sign of the times. Regardless, each of us know that the others are there for them if need be. It doesn’t need to be said, we just know. My extended family! Brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins. Great nieces and great nephews! Great, great nieces and great, great nephews! Wow, our family is big! But for them, I’m also grateful. Yes, dad is laughing! I’m thankful for my job! I have a great job and work with some of the best people in the industry at WSAZ NewsChannel 3. We have fun at what we do and we’re good at it. If it wasn’t fun, I wouldn’t be doing what I do….! Last, but certainly not least, I’m thankful for my pets! You all know that I love my Corgi’s ( Fredricka Constantine Boyd), my Pug, my Basset Hound, my Chihuahua and my Conure bird. We’re a family, all of us! So with that, I hope the rest of you are just as thankful for what you have in your life that I am. We all have struggles. Good times and bad times, trials and tribulations, but we’re all here for a reason that started with 2 other people before us and 2 other people before them and so on and so on….I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and please don’t take what you have for granted….Happy Thanksgiving friends!

We’ve created a new web site named Kentucky Hot Wheels, where all things are Hot Wheels and VDubs. Since we’re avid Hot Wheels collectors and VW enthusiast, what better way to share both of our passions. We’ve added a Classified Ad’s section in hope that local traders, sellers and buyers will use it and avoid other bogus online auctions and classifieds. All ads have to be approved by us before they’re posted. It’s a very easy process. We’ll also be using this site to document the restoration of our 1974 VW Super Beetle, so be sure to keep checking back often for updates. If you see anything missing from this new web site or you can think of a way to make it better, be sure to use the Contact Form to let us know.
So, between cutting the grass and trying to make room in the garage for the Beetle, I managed to start the tear down process. Sorting and separating what is trash and what can be re-used. The process sure brings back some old memories of evenings after school when Robert Love, Terry Diamond, Charlie Greene, Ray Roe, Rodney Salyers and myself would spend hours upon hours working on our old Beetles. No big surprises so far, the body is very solid on this car. Not much to look at, but a great foundation to start with. I’ll be posting pictures as I can and documenting the entire process. You’re all more than welcome to join in on the fun and get your hands dirty… You can check out all of the photos here!
