Meet Maggie II

Maggie IIAs you know by now, our oldest basset hound, Maggie, passed away in her sleep this past Friday. As I’ve stated, Maggie was an integral part of our family and there is no way she could ever be replaced. She was truly a one of a kind friend and pet. It’s interesting sometimes how things just sort of seem to fall into place. I believe that Newtons third law states that for every action, there is a equal and opposite re-action. A couple of weeks ago, my newphew Matthew came into the possession of a female basset hound and two of her surviving pups. The female had originally had 13 pups and all but 2 had been killed by father. My newphew had rescued the female and her 2 remaining pups as the owner of the mother and father was out of town. Not wanting to be bothered with the female and her pups, the owner asked my nephew to place the dogs with new owners. So today, Lenora and Shauna went to Matt’s house to look at the dogs and when Lenora saw the little tri-colored female, it instantly reminded her of Maggie when she was a pup. So today, Maggie II joined our family. And maybe, if things pan out, if my nephew is able to place the remaining male pup, we may add Maggie II’s mother to the family as well. Lenora said that she looks like, acts like and is about the same age as Sophie. I hope that we’ll be able to help Matt place the male pup to a loving family and possibly let Maggie II’s mother join ours. Again, there is no dog that could ever replace Maggie, Maggie II is just going to help carry on her legacy. We already love her very much.
