It was a good opportunity to try some new techniques using toilet paper as a fabric. I’m pretty pleased with the results, decided to keep the display on this one pretty simple.

The body and and paint were in excellent condition, so I thought about just throwing some new wheels on it and calling it finished, but that would be too easy. Instead, I decided to make it look like it’s been sitting outside in the elements for about 30 years, just waiting to be restored. This was a fun one, I hope that you enjoy the video. More coming soon!

VW Beetle Steering Wheel Button Clock

VW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockVW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockVW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockVW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockVW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockVW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockVW Beetle Steering Wheel ClockI’ve been wanting to add a clock somewhere in the interior of Mabel forever, just couldn’t find the right looking clock and I surely didn’t want to use one of those stick on digital clocks. I did find one on Amazon (link is in the description of the video) which was suitable and I just stuck it to the speaker grill. I immediately hated it and began looking for other locations to put the clock. The steering wheel button became the perfect spot! Though you can buy the center cap with a clock installed, I thought it’d be a lot of fun to make my own.
