Basement Bathroom Nearing Completion

We spent a lot of time working on the basement bathroom this weekend. Did a final sanding of the walls and ceiling, got everything primed and painted. Also installed light fixtures and finally got the new floor down! Only thing left is the tile work in the shower and we’ve decided to go with a teak wood floor for the shower. Next up is the sink and baseboards, then last, but certainly no least is the shower tile. Not really looking forward to that, but we can do it!!

Basement Buildout Continues

This weekend found us back in the basement, finishing up the last room! We’ve ignored the bathroom for well over a year now, but it’s time that we finish it so we can concentrate on kitchen project next. Lenora ordered the flooring for the bathroom last week and even though it’s been framed for well over a year, we still hadn’t hung any sheetrock or prepared the shower for tiling. All of the electrical and plumbing has been finished for a long time as well so this weekend, we roughed in the sheetrock and will spend the upcoming evenings mudding, sanding and painting!

You can see the complete photoset of the basement buildout here!

Real Steel (2011)

Got around to watching Real Steel tonight. I honestly had no intention of watching this movie, had actually forgotten about it. Boy, what a surprise it was. Set in the near future (2020), where robot boxing is a top sport, a struggling promoter feels he’s found a champion in a discarded robot. During his hopeful rise to the top, he discovers he has an 11-year-old son who wants to know his father. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it, you won’t be disappointed!

Real Steel on IMDB.

New Hot Wheels!

hotwheelsAt one time, we were avid Hot Wheels collectors. We still have thousands of cars in our collection and still like to pick up new, interesting finds. Lenora came across these two while shopping today and couldn’t resist. Hot Wheels Hershey’s series Milk Duds Haulin’ Gas and Yorks Dairy Delivery. These cars differ from type Hot Wheels because they have special wheels and real rubber tires. Plus they’re double collectibles. These will be nice additions to our collection.
